Through the AFCEA-UMUC education alliance, you can pursue your studies through our evening and weekend class offerings, entirely online, or by completing a combination of both (hybrid format). AFCEA members may be eligible for a 25% discount on out-of-state tuition.*

UMUC is now AFCEA's exclusive academic online provider for Cybersecurity and Information Assurance programs. Additionally, we offer career-specific undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs to help you develop the momentum you need to reach your career goals. As an AFCEA member, you can choose from more than 95 academic programs, including Cybersecurity, Information Assurance and Intelligence Management.

Tuition Discount

To be eligible for the tuition discount, please first select AFCEA as your corporate sponsor on the UMUC application and then e-mail your membership ID number to or fax it to 301-985-7514. Prior Learning

Earn More Undergraduate Credits in One Semester  At UMUC, we believe that learning acquired outside of the classroom is valuable—and it can translate into college credit. Our Prior Learning program allows you to earn up to 30 credits in one semester—plus additional credits totaling up to 15—for college-level learning you have acquired at your job, in the military,  through community and volunteer activities, or a combination of these.

* On out-of-state tuition for most programs. The tuition discount will not be applied to the following graduate programs and related courses: Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Data Analytics, Master of Science in Digital Forensics and Cyber Investigation, Master of Science in Cybersecurity Management and Policy, Master of Science in Cybersecurity Technology, graduate certificates in Cybersecurity Management and Policy, Cybersecurity Technology, Foundations in Business Analytics, and Information Assurance, and all doctoral programs and specializations. The tuition for students who meet the criteria for Maryland residency will be the applicable in-state rate. Tuition for active-duty military, members of the Selected Reserves, National Guard, and the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the spouses and dependents of these student groups will be the applicable military rate.
